State Institute of Rural Development

State Institite of Rural Development

The State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) has been an integral part of YASHADA since its inception in year 1993. It is jointly funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and Rural Development Department, Government of Maharashtra. State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC) is housed in SIRD which is also funded by Ministry of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
We firmly believe that training and capacity building initiatives backed with effective local governance and efficient program implementation is prerequisite to rural development. For this, we strive to carry out policy dialogues, systematic research, consultancy, documentation and evaluations leading to social equity, economic efficiency and environmental sustainability in rural areas. Our focus will remain on transforming knowledge, skills and attitudes of elected representatives and functionaries of PRIs and other stakeholders engaged in rural development.
