The Centre of Excellence in Land Administration and Management (CoE–LAM) was operationalized on 1st October 2024 at YASHADA, Pune, under the aegis of the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, by upgrading the Centre for Land Titling. The CoE–LAM is one of the National Level Centres of Excellence established to support land governance reforms.
The Centre functions as a specialized hub for monitoring and evaluation of land governance initiatives, research and innovation, and technical and policy support to Governments. It assists in survey and re-survey activities using advanced technologies such as ETS, DGPS, drones, and LiDAR, and supports implementation of national initiatives related to land records and registration systems. The CoE–LAM contributes to strengthening land tenure security, land reforms, digitization and standardization of land records in alignment with the National Geospatial Policy. It also provides training, legal and technical guidance, knowledge management, and promotes partnerships and collaboration to enhance transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in land administration systems.
