The origin of the Yashada Library was at the Administrative Officers College in Mumbai. The primary objective and function of the Administrative Officers College were to provide training to officers. In 1984, the college was relocated to Pune, and its new name was established as the Maharashtra Institute of Development Administration (MIDA). Along with the library collection of the Administrative Officers College, the library itself was also relocated to Raj Bhavan, Pune. The first book in this library was recorded on October 14, 1963. As of February 18, 2025, a total of 54,457 books have been recorded. The Yashada Library has contributed to various training programs, research projects, and the fulfillment of information needs.
