Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) an Institute of National importance and established by an Act of Parliament of India. The Institute of Eminence by the Government of India and is known world-wide for the high-quality education that it imparts and for undertaking cutting-edge research in various areas of science, engineering, design, management, and social sciences. To collaborate to improve access and opportunities in sectors like Agriculture and Allied activities, Air Pollution, Disaster Management, Education and Capacity Building, Health and Nutrition, Land Administration, Transportation, Water Resources, and others. There already exists substantial collaborations between IIT Bombay and various departments of Govt. of Maharashtra (GoM). This is in the form of consultancy work, sponsored projects, honorary work and sharing of data. YASHADA have collaborated with IIT Bombay in the areas of Geospatial Technology, Policy, Administration and Staff training as follows.
• Alignment of Research and Consultancy projects at IIT Bombay with the initiatives and Mission Mode Projects of the GoM under a Program of collaboration.
• Specific engagements for the advancement of technology-driven solutions in various departments of the GoM communicated through YASHADA that will be taken up by IIT Bombay faculty and staff together with students on mutually agreed terms. Details of the specific engagements undertaken under this MoU as projects under the overall Program of collaboration.
• Developing pathways for challenges faced by the departments of the GoM for integration into research and learning objectives of different departments at IIT Bombay through the sharing of use cases, data, and problem statements for possible joint programs subject to the confidentiality obligations.
• Capacity Building programs such as fellowships, internships, and executive education in the particular areas as may be mutually agreed.
• Promoting open learning initiatives through Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS), open standards, open data, and open course material in areas such as geospatial science and engineering, data for policy, and others.
