Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune Deemed to be University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. (GOKHALE INSTITUTE). GOKHALE INSTITUTE is one of the oldest research institutes in India focused on Economics and Politics. It awards B.Sc. M.A., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in various areas of Economics and allied subjects. Gokhale Institute conducts research projects in various areas related to economic policies, socio-economic development with primary surveys being the main forte of the institute. Gokhale Institute is also engaged in publication of research in economics and allied areas along with policy advocacy.
GOKHALE INSTITUTE and YASHADA will collaborate for the purpose of offering educational programs, training courses, research projects and such other activities as follows.
• Master’s Degree in Public Policy for mid-career civil service officers: GOKHALE INSTITUTE has offered to collaborate with YASHADA for the purpose of offering a Master’s Degree in Public Policy for mid-career civil service officers with these objectives: a) Introducing mid-career civil service officers to the intricacies of policy making in a rapidly changing world. b) Equipping mid-career civil service officers with new techniques of data and evidence-based policy making. c) Enabling mid-career civil service officers for their transition from policy implementers to policy analysers and eventually policy makers.
• Common Probationers’ Training Programme (CPTP): a) Constitution of a Board of Studies and framing/ amending the syllabus. b) Setting of question papers and evaluation-moderation. c) Issuing mark sheets and results.
• Research Projects: a) Faculty members and selected research candidates from GOKHALE INSTITUTE and YASHADA will be permitted and enabled to conduct research projects jointly. The envisaged areas of such joint research projects are as follows. a) Public Policy b) Public Finance, c) Government Schemes- Monitoring & Evaluation.
