The Foundation Training Programme of the 12th Batch of the Combined Probationary Training Programme (CPTP) for State Civil Service Officers was inaugurated at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA), Pune, on September 7, 2026, at the Samvad Hall. The training programme will be conducted from September 7 to October 18, 2026, with a total of 258 trainees participating in the programme.


The CPTP has been designed with the objective of preparing State Civil Service Officers to become competent, sensitive, and effective administrators capable of meeting the requirements of modern governance. It is a comprehensive two-year training programme comprising foundation training, mandatory departmental attachments, study visits to Maharashtra and Delhi, technical training, departmental examinations, and a dissertation.


The Foundation Training Programme covers subjects including Public Administration, Law and Judicial Processes, Management and Behavioural Sciences, Information Technology, Office Administration and Financial Management, Economics, and Project Planning and Management. The programme is being conducted with the academic support and collaboration of various reputed educational institutions.


The inaugural programme was attended by Dr. Suhas Diwase, IAS, Director General, YASHADA, along with the Additional Director General, Deputy Director General, Dean (Academic), faculty members, and senior officers of YASHADA. The trainees were addressed and guided on the objectives and importance of the training programme.


In addition to classroom lectures, the CPTP incorporates case studies, group discussions, practical exercises, role plays, management games, simulations, yoga, physical training, and various co-curricular activities. These diverse components aim to promote the holistic development of the trainees by enhancing their knowledge, professional skills, leadership capabilities, and overall personality.


The commencement of the Foundation Training Programme for the 12th CPTP Batch marks an important milestone in the endeavour to develop competent officers equipped to deliver modern, citizen-centric, technology-enabled, and effective governance.
