The 12th batch of the Combined Probationary Training Programme (CPTP) at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA), Pune, was inaugurated today (September 10) by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Jishnu Dev Sharma. YASHADA Director General Dr. Suhas Diwase, YASHADA Additional Director General Shekhar Gaikwad, Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor Prashant Narnavare, and Head of the CPTP Department at YASHADA Pournima Gaikwad were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Governor said, “While serving in the civil services, give the highest priority to the Constitution and make values such as integrity, sensitivity, people-centricity and the courage to take decisions the foundation of your work. Earning the trust of the people is the true test of an administrative career,” the Governor said.

He further stated that quality education, healthcare, modern infrastructure, employment, sustainable agriculture and responsive governance are essential for achieving the vision of ‘Developed Maharashtra 2047’ and ‘Developed India 2047’. These objectives will be realised not merely through policies but through the day-to-day work of officers. The true implementation of policies takes place at the village, school, hospital, police station, municipal ward and district collectorate levels, the Hon’ble Governor said.

On the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor also unveiled the CPTP website and released the training manual.

YASHADA Director General Dr. Suhas Diwase said that the nature of administration is rapidly changing due to technology, artificial intelligence, data-driven governance, environmental challenges and the growing expectations of citizens. Therefore, it is essential to develop a culture of lifelong learning, ethical leadership and a strong commitment to public service among officers. YASHADA is now working not merely as a training institution but also as a ‘Learning Facilitator’. Training has been integrated with research, consultancy services, collaboration and knowledge management. For this purpose, three inter-departmental divisions and eight Centres of Excellence have been made operational.

He further stated that while technology can accelerate administration, empathy gives administration a human face.

Head of the CPTP Department, Pournima Gaikwad, delivered the introductory remarks. She said that YASHADA is committed to developing competent, honest and dutiful officers.

The programme was compered by Assistant Professor and Director, Management Development Centre, YASHADA, Pranjali Khadse, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Professor and Additional District Collector, Shama Pawar.

All probationary trainee officers participating in the programme, along with officers and employees of YASHADA, were present on the occasion.
